Growing up my mom couldn’t buy me enough books. Every time she turned around I needed a new book. I went through them like water. And I didn’t like library books. They smelled funny and I liked to keep all the books I read in case I needed to reference them later. To this day I love books. Me and
Amazon.com are BFFs. I couldn’t even tell you how many books I have in my Amazon wishlist. I’m not really sure about this whole
Kindle craze. I get it, it’s a great idea and I’m all about cool gadgets (and this one looks pretty awesome). But I need to see the books, see the cover, feel the texture, touch the pages, be able to highlight key phrases, really get the whole book reading experience. The problem is that I keep buying books and nowadays I don’t have very much time to read. Enter audiobooks. Clearly goes against everything I just said I was for. But it’s FREE!
DJ is offering a free download of the book
Free on his
website right now. I haven’t yet listened to this audiobook, but it’s a limited time offer so go get yours and we can listen together.
Also, while on the topic of free books you can go to Creating Customer Evangelists to get a FREE e-book. Again you lose out on all the touching and feeling and smelling, essentially all the sensory components of book enjoymenship, but I never argue with free. (I also haven’t read this book so here’s the disclaimer that says don’t complain if these books suck and were a total waste of your time!)
Also, another note since we’re noting things. DJ (mentioned above) is also offering free stuff right now. DJ is the creator of ShowIt Sites which is the software that I used to completely create my website from scratch. I have no experience in web design or design for that matter and I think I did a pretty darn good job for a first timer!
Lastly, this post needs some visual entertainment. I could litter this post with pics of book covers or the Show It logo, but I received an email tonight from my sweet couple from this weekend asking for a sneak pic…how can I not oblige?
