Desiree & Mike {Wedding}

I love weddings. I’ve probably mentioned that before. But I really do have the best job in the world. I’ve gotten to see so many different types of religious and cultural weddings. It’s like being a wedding photographer = studying anthropology (and Anthropologie is my favorite store, coincidence? I think not). Marianne Wilson invited me along to this beautiful wedding at Hartley Botanica in Somis, CA. This was the first Jewish wedding I’ve ever attended and it was a lot of fun.

I love when the getting ready portion of the day is filled with fun and laughter.

Before the ceremony, the guys and the girls are kept separate. And then right before the ceremony the groom goes over to the girls only party with his whole entourage of guys to make sure that the bride is really his bride.

Seeing her groom for the first time. Yup, that’s for sure his bride!

So then he “veils” her, verifying that this is the woman he has agreed to marry.

She has to circle him seven times. Look at how he’s looking at her as she passes!

Another sweet look. Hartley Botanica has a really cool ceremony setup; I was able to go behind the minister and get some sniper shots of their faces, yet I was completely hidden from the view of guests! Win-win situation.

When they were announced into the reception, everyone immediately when straight for the dance floor!
