Fast forward seven years to Amy and Brian. Amy and Brian had originally dreamed of getting married in an old Victorian House in Virginia, where Amy is from. After considering all the planning and accommodations necessary to plan a destination wedding, Amy and Brian decided to wed in California, but needed a venue that had the charm of historic Virginia. You guessed it! Camarillo Ranch House had all the charm they needed, and a Big Red Barn too!

As a wedding photographer, I’ve never had the opportunity to shoot a wedding at the Camarillo Ranch House. So when Amy contacted me and let me know she was getting married there, I almost jumped out of my chair. I was so excited when I emailed her, that Mike said I probably scared her off and I should write emails to potential clients with fewer exclamation points. I like exclamation points! And fortunately Amy wasn’t scared off by them.

Amy and Brian – thank you so much for inviting me to document your incredible wedding day at a place that is so near and dear to me, and I hope that the Camarillo Ranch House is now as special and meaningful to you two.

Amy has the longest hair! The two times I met her before the wedding she had it up so I had no idea how long it was!

I commented on Brian’s Superman ring during our initial client consultation. He’s a big fan. He even walked down the aisle to the Superman theme song! I LOVE personal touches like that! There’s no right or wrong when planning your wedding, the more you make it about YOU the more your guests will love and remember it all!

The Big Red Barn! The Camarillo Ranch House just recently upgraded the barn. It wasn’t useable when I was married there. It’s outfitted with two plasma TVs too!

The candy bar! Dessert/Candy bars are so popular right now…guests LOVE them! The cake was provided by the amazing Jana of Jana’s Creative Cakes. She also did the cake at Erika’s wedding!

This year I’m most excited about the return of:

How I Met Your Mother which if you watch it is kind of a Friends replacement show if you think about it. If you don’t watch it, what is wrong with you?! Go rent every season, catch yourself up, and get with the program already! Suit up! Barney is so my favorite character.

Chuck. Chuck is a geeky computer tech who gets all of the CIAs secrets downloaded into his brain. Obviously, not very realistic, but very cute. And I’m not partial at all (I may or may not be friends with the lead actor’s sister in real life). Mike and I love this show! I think Chuck is going to drastically change this season now that Chuck is like version 2.0, fully upgraded.

Heroes. Love Heroes! This is definitely a show that you can’t really just start watching it out of nowhere because you would be so lost. And honestly I don’t really remember how it ended last season, but that’s why they do a re-cap before every show. All I know is I’m hooked.

Grey’s Anatomy. Another show I’ve watched since the beginning and it’s like a soap opera I’m so hooked I can’t not watch now. But last season’s finale was CRAZY! Did you watch it? OMG. Who do you think dies? Izzy? George? Both? I think that Izzy dies, and George is at the elevator to say one last goodbye before she rides the elevator to the sky. Ooooh I can’t wait!!!

New shows that I can’t wait to see:

Glee already started a couple of weeks ago and I think I quite like it. I don’t love that the one chick is all into the married guy, that’s never cool, even if his wife is crazy. But I think it’s going to be a fun show, and I love the wardrobes!

Cougartown. I’m not super stoked on Cougartown, but I’m at least going to check it out because I LOVE Courtney Cox (see top of this blog post).

Hmmm, I can’t think of any other new shows that I’m excited about. Is this fall going to be dull?

So, let’s discuss a couple of off-season shows I like! I call them off-season because they start in the spring or summer as opposed to the fall.

My Boys. Is so cute! I love PJ hanging out with a bunch of boys playing poker. Definitely a few good laughs if you watch this show.

Psych. This might be one of our favorite shows. Psych is so funny and fun. It’s a light-hearted detective show where a guy who pays extreme attention to details (these types of guys DO NOT exist in real life) pretends he is a psychic for the Santa Barbara Police Department.

I don’t really watch very much reality TV. But I’m really excited that So You Think You Can Dance is back for a fall season. I personally think this last summer season was not very good. I’m going to watch this season, and if it doesn’t get better I might have to give up on this show. But I’m not giving up yet. I love Mia Michaels and Wade Robson. I absolutely CANNOT dance. I have no dancing ability whatsoever, but I enjoy watching these talented youngsters do their thing.

My goal is to keep my TV watching to these few shows so I can actually have a life and not waste away in front of the TV. Yeah, we’ll see if that happens!
